Château la Mascaronne lies in the heart of Provence just outside the village of Le Luc and sits in the centre of its beautiful 45 HA of vineyards comprising rolling hills of vines which grow on chalk/clay soil covered in stones.
The terroir of La Mascaronne had always been renowned for producing some of the finest and longest-lived red wines of the region – complex, powerful with supple dark fruit flavours - and it was for this reason that Tom Bove (formerly of Chateau Miraval) acquired the Domaine some years ago and embarked on an ambitious programme of restoration and investment in the latest wine-making technology and viticultural techniques.
The gently sloping vineyards consist of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Cinsault and Ugni-Blanc with new plantings of Rolle (Vermentino). The wines produced at La Mascaronne are all within the Côtes de Provence appellation and sustainable viticulture practices are employed.
