The Conseil Genéral du Var has selected Mascaronne Guy da Nine Red 2006 as its chosen Rouge Vin de Garde to represent the best that Provence winemaking can offer and to be poured at official functions in the Var.
This is a great tribute to the wine making team at La Mascaronne!

Sip and Savour Provence Lunch

Sip and Savour organised a fabulous Provence Lunch at Cigalon, the acclaimed Chancery Lane, London restaurant on June 18th. Hosted by wine expert Andrew Jefford, Mascaronne Rouge 2005 was selected to accompany Roasted Rack of Lamb with Herbes de Provence & Anchovy Condiment, Artichoke Barigoule with Mont Ventoux Ham and Braised Chicory.
Guests commented that the wine pairing was excellent and Andrew's tasting notes on Mascaronne Rouge 2005 :
"Syrah dominates this ruby red wine with intense aromas of dark fruits. It is characterised by a blend of suppleness, strength and a fine intensity. A long finish combines flavours of blackcurrant and tart griotte cherries "
